Tweets And The Presidential Debate

Presidential Debate – Who Is Winning the Twitter War?

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s presidential debate was one of the most hyped and tweeted events of the year. This was a much anticipated political debate that turned many heads. It is quite interesting to note that the presidential debate had so much in it! With this being said, here are few things to learn from it and its tweets.

The Winner of Tweets

A lot of the presidential debate was criticized and evaluated by the public. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if someone tells you that there were five million tweets on the event. Most of these Tweets were dominated by a single candidate and that would be “Donald Trump”. Nearly 62% of the tweets revolved around Trump!

The Topics

Important tweeted topics about the presidential debate would be as follows: the economy, foreign affairs, environment, energy, terrorism and guns!

The Tweets!

Early this week, Clinton attacked Donald Trump by saying Trumped up trickle down. This was in response to Trump’s proposal for tax cuts that serve the rich. This became a trending phrase in Twitter worldwide. Clinton’s supporters got hold of this phrase and started commenting on it! This turned into an interesting battle in no time.

The Arguments

Moving on, Donald Trump came across lots of criticism and jokes about his focus on nations like China and Mexico. It has always been an ongoing theme that jobs in US are shipped to foreign destinations. Once again, opponents had the chance to argue upon Trump’s statement.

The Spin Room

The Spin Room became an online affair this year. A lot of debatable American losers and winners were shaped in the Spin Room. This is where the media takes up topics and talks about them on-stage. And, this year the debate happened wildly through tweets.
