In a shocking statement, the president of Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte resembled himself with Adolf Hitler and said he would be happy to exterminate three million drug users and peddlers in Philippines.
The media world has been shocked with such bold and outrageous statement while the Jewish groups have decided to pressure the U.S. government to take a tougher line on this Philippines’s leader.
This is not the first case, some weeks ago; he had insulted president Obama through a series of statements. The relations of Manila and Washington are not maintaining the stabilization that was earlier maintained by both countries. The basic reason lies in the shocking and illogical statements made by the current Philippines president.
He conveyed the remarks in a speech after coming back from a state visit from Vietnam and said that critics call him a cousin of Hitler, but remember Hitler murdered three million Jews and he would not hesitate to slaughter three million drug users in the country.
He pointed towards himself during the press talk and said that if Germany had Hitler than Philippine would have me.
He said that you people know my victims and I would like to finish them all so that future generation could be saved.
The controversial president came into power after May elections on the promise of eradicating the drugs and corruption in the country. 100 million voted and sent him to the presidency office.
According to the media reports, 3100 people have been killed so far by the police through operation against drug user and dealers.
According to the Jewish group, the comparison between Jewish victims and drug users is inappropriate and deeply offensive.
In past few weeks, he did not only criticize president Obama but the United Nations and European Union to boot.
However, a senior American defense official said that America had a long enduring relationship with the Philippines regardless of who is the president in the country.
I don’t know about you but I find this shocking that a member of the United States Government would even say such a thing.
