Who Will will “Pay the Price” U.S. or South Korea ?

 Chinese top newspaper on Saturday has cautioned that U.S. and South Korea will have to pay the price for their planning to deploy advance missile system in Korean peninsula. According to the newspaper, this action will lead to a reaction and counter measures are possible.

 Tensions have again risen in the Korean region after the North Korea’s series of nuclear tests. The last month’s test was the most powerful and whole world has now felt the seriousness of the issue.

 In July, after negotiations, South Korea and America had agreed to deploy U.S. Terminal high altitude area defense (THAAD) anti missile system in South Korea against the threats posed by North Korea through their missile testing.

 The plan does not find favorable comments from China and China feels that THAAD’s powerful Radar would comprise its security and even the security system will do nothing to stabilize the Korean peninsula.

 The ruling communist party’s official newspaper, China Daily said that China’s stance on the issue would not be changed as it’s a serious threat for the strategic security balance of the region.

 The newspaper also said that China is like all other countries and we can neither be vogue nor indifferent to the issues related to security matters. Using some harsh words, the newspaper also said that if U.S. and South Korea will try to change the security balance of the region then they have to pay the price and they will receive a proper counter attack.

 China has repeated its stance many times on THAAD but it is still unclear what steps will be taken against the deployment of THAAD. While the opposite camp has made a point that THAAD deployment has nothing to do with other countries, it is only a protection against the threats of North Korea.

After the pressure of international community, China has agreed with the UN sanctions against North Korea.
